Playsum is specifically created to be a safe and inclusive community where you can enjoy gaming no matter who you are or how you play. A place for people who may not have felt welcome or safe in other parts of the gaming community. We expect that if you’re on Playsum it’s because you believe in the mission of making social gaming safe and easy for everyone.
Playsum is what you make of it. If you’re kind, inclusive, and try your best when interacting with others you’ll have a great time. On the other hand, being hateful, combative, or pushy will likely cause a bad experience for you and others.
Our guidelines are intended to give you clarity on our expectations and on how to contribute to making it an amazing place. We’ll be continually updating the guidelines as time goes on.

The Short & Sweet Version
Hate and Harassment
There’s no excuse for hate and it goes against our core mission and beliefs at Playsum.
Therefore, we don’t tolerate any kind of hate or harassment based on race, nationality, sexuality, gender identity, disability, religion, or mental health.
Nudity
We’re all for body positivity. When it comes to nudity, there’s a time and place for it (but never with minors).
Sending unwanted nude images or videos, whether of yourself or others, is a form of digital flashing and sexual harassment. No one wants to see this unless they have given prior consent.
Sharing nude or semi-nude images or videos of someone without their knowledge or consent is illegal in many places and is prohibited on Playsum.
Respect
Remember, Playsum is not for dating and it’s strictly against the guidelines to use the platform with the intent to seek a romantic relationship. Women and femme-presenting people constantly receive unwanted advances in gaming communities - Playsum is a safe space from that.
Another important thing to keep in mind is how harmful gatekeeping can be, especially when it’s related to a person’s gender, race, sexuality, disability, or age. It can come in many forms such as not considering someone a gamer if they play mobile games or quizzing someone on their game knowledge and not considering them to be a true fan if they haven’t played a particular game since the beginning.
Finally, respect boundaries. Don’t continue to engage with someone when they’ve said to stop.
Harmful and Violent Content
We don’t allow content that’s threatening or incites violence. Graphic content that may be considered disturbing, such as gore, is also not appropriate on Playsum. We will remove harmful content and may ban users displaying threatening behavior.
Content that involves, encourages or promotes self-harm, eating disorders, or suicide is also not allowed. If we see someone in crisis, we may reach out and provide help resources or contact law enforcement so they can receive support. If you believe someone may be in danger call emergency services in addition to reporting it to us.
Illegal
This should be obvious, but keep it lawful. This includes the usage or promotion of drugs that are not legal where you live. Making a false report to the police is also not legal and won’t be tolerated. We may suspend your account and report illegal behaviors to law enforcement when necessary.
Minors
Don’t discuss inappropriate topics or share inappropriate media with minors present. Additionally, don’t share content that sexualizes minors (under this policy, we define minors as under the age of 18 years old).
We take child safety very seriously. Anyone engaging in sexual conduct with minors, grooming, or sharing child sexual abuse material will be reported to the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children. Your account will also be immediately and permanently banned.
To use Playsum, you must be at least 13 years old. Any members we suspect of being under 13 will be banned.
Be yourself
We know privacy is extremely important, and pseudonymity helps protect that. Your avatar doesn’t need to be a photo of you, and you don’t need to use your real name. However, you shouldn’t pretend to be someone else. Impersonation of a person or organization is not allowed.
Personal private information
Be careful not to share personal information such as phone numbers, addresses, schools, or other info that could be used to identify you.
To protect members' safety and privacy, it’s not allowed to publicly share phone numbers or addresses, and we’ll remove the information.
Intentionally sharing someone’s personal information without their consent or with malicious intent will result in a ban.
Spam and Solicitation
It’s obvious when something changes from telling people about a project you’re working on to mass messaging. No one likes to be spammed. Keep advertisement to appropriate channels, off Playsum.
Sexual or financial solicitation is illegal and will result in a ban.
Let’s play
We’re all here to share in our love of video and tabletop games. Most of you are on Playsum because you want to help us build a kind, inclusive, and helpful community. So let’s have fun!
How to Report
If you see the guidelines being broken you can report the member by going to their profile and tapping ⋮ in the top right corner. We’ll investigate it and take action on it if needed.
We’re here to keep you and all our members safe. At the same time, we want members to be self-reliant and able to handle problems within their capabilities by themselves.
This means disagreements, arguments, or situations where a member upsets you but it doesn’t violate our guidelines - blocking the member would be the best course of action. When blocked, neither you or the other member will be able to see or interact with each other.
Only reporting when something violates the guidelines makes it easier for us to quickly respond to important reports. Remember, if someone’s life is in danger you should always report it to law enforcement in addition to us.
The Short & Sweet Version
Hate & Harassment - any form of hate or harassment towards a person or group of people has no place on Playsum.
Nudity - don’t be inappropriate. Unwanted nudity or sharing someone else’s pictures or videos without their consent is very serious.
Gatekeeping is not cool - people can enjoy things in different ways, and there’s nothing wrong with that. We’re here to keep the community welcoming to everyone.
Don’t seek romantic relationships - unwanted advances are rife in gaming spaces. Playsum is a safe space from that.
Harmful and violent - this content can be disturbing and dangerous, even if that isn’t your intent.
Be yourself - you don’t have to use your real name or picture but don’t impersonate someone else.
Be careful about sharing personal information - keep yourself safe, and never maliciously share other people’s personal info.
Don’t spam - no promotion, advertisement, or solicitation
Underage - you must be 13 years of age or older to join
Breaking the law - doing illegal things on or off Playsum is, well, illegal.
