Planting trees is a simple way for us and our customers to make an impact and give back to the environment while enjoying great games. We plan to do even more to support the environment and charities in the future, but this is something that’s possible for us to do now, while we’re still growing.
Trees for the Future estimates that it costs an average of 25 cents to plant one tree. With each purchase contributing nearly half the cost, every two games sold fund the planting of one full tree! 🌳
In 2025, we aim to plant 10,000 trees through this initiative. Here’s how we’re turning gaming into real-world impact.
How It Works
- 10 cents per game: A portion of every sale is allocated to tree planting.
- Partnering for impact: Trees for the Future uses these funds to plant trees in regions facing deforestation, such as sub-Saharan Africa, while training communities in agroforestry.
- Transparent tracking: Progress toward our 10,000-tree goal will be updated quarterly on our blog and social media. Later, we’ll implement a way to view the number of trees planted in real-time on our store, and it’ll show how many trees you contributed.
Why 10,000 Trees?
Reforestation is a critical tool in combating climate change, and 10,000 trees will:
1. Capture approximately 600 metric tons of CO₂ over their lifetime, which is equivalent to removing 130 cars from the road for a year!
2. Restore degraded land, support biodiversity, and improve soil health in vulnerable ecosystems.
3. Empower local communities through sustainable farming practices and economic opportunities.
